Hi!
I bought your ebook(pain free living) about a year or so ago due to low back pain. I managed to get some relief but have since developed many other areas of pain and been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Whilst medication provides some relief i would rather not take it. My energy levels are very low and i wondered if you could advise me of a short program of treatment that would help me back to a point where i can do some gentle exercise. My main areas of pain are my sacrum, left hip, knees, both calfs and achilles, burning feet, neck, wrists and elbows. From the list you can probably see why I am having trouble wondering where on earth to start. Would be grateful for any help you can give. Carol

Hi Carol,

The first thing I would suggest is that you look for an osteopathic (O.D.) physician in your area. An O.D. has more knowledge about the overall body than (in my opinion) any other medical professional. The next thing I'd do is go to a good health food store and buy a homeopathic remedy called arnica, both in the gel (topical) and tiny pills (for internal use). Arnica is a well-known homeopathic treatment for pain, bruised muscles, and swelling. It's amazing how well it works, I can't say enough about arnica, or about homeopathy. The O.D. usually knows about homeopathy and you can do some research on the internet about it. Homeopathy has been around for many centuries, and has been researched for over 200 years, proving it is totally safe and extremely effective. Outside the USA it is a major component in the medical field.

As for the self-treatments, the way I always start is to go for the area with the most pain and then work my way to the area of least pain. Some people spend many hours working on themselves, but I definitely don't want you to do that because you are in a sensitive situation right now. I'd like to see you start gently, and then go deeper as you are feeling relief. If you have a local massage therapist who is trained in myofascial release (ask them when you call, you want someone who is really knowledgeable about the technique) that would also be a good starting place.

I've worked with many people who have fibromyalgia and I am certain that you will get relief. I wish you were in my area (San Marcos, TX as of 2/19/10, and then Raleigh, NC in late April) because I'd teach you what to do to help yourself. However, you do have the book and that will be very beneficial.

Keep in touch.

Wishing you well,
Julie
